The collection consists of correspondence, writings, personal papers, photographs, printed material, and a videotaped interview, documenting the life and career of American poet Simon Perchik. Correspondence is chiefly professional in nature, consisting of letters from editors, publishers, and other authors, relating to the writings of Simon Perchik and to twentieth-century American poetry generally. Principal correspondents include Elizabeth Press and Edward Butscher. Writings consists of autograph manuscript and typescript drafts of Simon Perchik's poetry and prose, dating from the 1960s to the 1990s.
