The papers document the life and literary career of Mary Barnard and consist of writings, correspondence, travel papers, diaries, photographs, artwork, and audiovisual materials, dating from the 1890s to 2001.Writings include drafts of published and unpublished works, research materials, and notebooks. Correspondence pertains mostly to Barnard's writing career and personal relationships, but also includes family correspondence. Correspondents include Ezra and Dorothy Pound and William Carlos Williams. Travel papers include diaries written by Barnard, passports, brochures, maps and printed ephemera. The collection also includes a small amount of daily calendars, photograph albums, artwork, and audio and video cassettes.
